(New York, New York) – Over 17-thousand AT&T workers continue to walk picket lines in nine states in the Southeast. The strike comes after workers say the phone company is employing “unfair labor practices” during contract negotiations. The Communications Workers of America, the union representing the striking employees, alleges AT&T did not bargain in good faith and sent negotiators who didn’t have authority to make decisions. AT&T is denying those allegations.

The strike involves AT&T technicians, customer service representatives and others who install, maintain and support AT&T’s residential and business wireline telecommunications network. It involves workers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Workers are looking for a better wage and better working conditions.
