(New York, NY) — New York University is agreeing to settle an antisemitism lawsuit by Jewish students with the terms of the agreement to be announced later today. The lawsuit, brought last November, accuses NYU of violating federal civil rights laws by allowing chants such as, “gas the Jews” and “Hitler was right” following the October outbreak of war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. The three students who sued also accused university President Linda Mills and other university officials of ignoring, gaslighting or slow-walking Jewish students’ complaints. NYU denied it. There are a number of similar lawsuits against Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, MIT, Carnegie-Mellon and UC-Berkeley.
