(Washington DC) – President Biden struggled in last Thursday’s televised debate against former President Donald Trump. That seems to be the common line of thinking even among allies of the President.

Former President Barack Obama tweeted out “Bad debate nights happen, trust me, I should know.” Even Biden’s own Vice President admitted that Biden had a “slow start”. However, some Democrats are going against the grain and calling for Biden to step aside.

Representative Lloyd Doggett from Texas and Congressman Jared Golden of Maine, have both come out with their concerns over Biden’s chances in November. Doggett said that Biden should decide to withdraw from the race.

Golden published an op-ed where he said that it is clear to him that Trump will win in November and went on to say that he is “OK with that”. Golden also wrote that the most important issue on the campaign trail is the economy.
