(New York, NY) — The city’s Rent Guidelines Board will hold a final vote Monday night on rent increases for rent-stabilized apartments across New York city. The board has already approved preliminary increases between two and four-and-a-half percent on one-year leases and four to six-and-a-half percent on two-year leases. Advocates are pushing back on the hike, saying they’re going to hurt tenants and drive out more low and middle income New Yorkers. Landlords says costs have skyrocketed and they are having a hard time making ends meet. Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will take place at Hunter College’s Assembly Hall at 7 p.m.
