JetBlue says it will begin offering direct service to Florida from Long Island in October.

(New York, NY) – Getting out of town for a trip to Florida will soon be that much easier for Long Island residents. JetBlue says it will begin offering service directly from MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma to Orlando International Airport, Palm Beach International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The service will launch October 24.

Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, says “Long Island is an integral part of the New York Metro area, and we are excited to bring our award-winning service to customers in this community. The addition of Long Island MacArthur Airport to our network will offer more options and greater convenience for customers, and we are proud to provide new opportunities for more Long Islanders to experience our unique combination of low fares and great service.”

JetBlue already offers service at Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia airports. Jehn expressed excitement at the expansion into eastern Long Island: “Long Island is an integral part of the New York Metro area, and we are excited to bring our award-winning service to customers in this community. The addition of Long Island MacArthur Airport to our network will offer more options and greater convenience for customers, and we are proud to provide new opportunities for more Long Islanders to experience our unique combination of low fares and great service.”

This will add JetBlue to the carriers that operate out of MacArthur Airport, joining Southwest, Frontier Airlines, and Breeze Airways.
