Wildwood Officials Lift State of Emergency

Cops enacted a state of emergency along the Wildwood boardwalk early on Memorial Day following several incidents of "civil unrest."

(Wildwood, NJ) – A series of incidents described as “civil unrest” led Wildwood, New Jersey police to enact a state of emergency late Sunday into early Monday. By 12:00 AM on Memorial Day, cops had issued the emergency order. That led to a closing of the boardwalk.

Later, by 6:00 AM on Monday, cops announced on X that the state of emergency order had been lifted. They explained that putting the emergency measure into place helped solve the problems effectively, and residents as well as shore visitors were thanked for dealing with the inconvenience.

Separately, further up the Garden State Parkway in Ocean City, a teenage was tabbed during an altercation on the boardwalk. A 15-year-old was attacked by an unknown male suspect. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. Cops describe the boy’s injuries as non-life-threatening injuries.
