With Deadly Crashes Up, NJ Cops Cracking Down

(South Brunswick, NJ) – New Jersey officials are sounding the alarm concerning an increase in deadly motor vehicle crashes. Lieutenant Gary Holsten is Vice President of the New Jersey Police Traffic Officers Association and says crashes that result in one or more deaths are up by 27%. Apparently both Middlesex and Monmouth counties have the highest percentage of fatal wrecks.

Officials note that New Jersey tends to experience an uptick in motor vehicle accidents beginning Memorial Day Weekend and carrying on through the summer. That makes the Monmouth county trend especially troubling given all of the Jersey Shore destinations included there.

So, a summer enforcement campaign is getting underway in an effort to crack down on risky, illegal, or unsafe driving. Of particular concern is Route One in South Brunswick. That roadway will see a targeted enforcement effort from cops.
