A mystery man promised to eat an entire tub of cheeseballs and hundreds showed up to cheer him on
(New York, NY) – A crowd gathered at Union Square on Saturday, but not for a protest or official city-sanctioned event. Instead, they all gathered to witness an unknown man eat an entire jar of cheeseballs.
The event was advertised through fliers taped around the city. It featured a man in an orange ski mask with all the details a curious person would need to know. The event was being held in the transit hub of Union Square on a Saturday at 3PM. The identity and motivations behind the move are not entirely clear. The flier also features a QR code linking to the man’s Instagram profile. The Cheeseball Man only follows two people including New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
However, some people over in Philadelphia are claiming the Cheeseball Man is a copycat. They claim that the move is pretty similar to another viral stunt in 2022 where a man ate an entire rotisserie chicken at an abandoned pier in Philly that also drew a crowd of spectators. However, the so-called “Chicken Man” says he appreciates the variations on his claim to viral fame.
The Cheeseball man did pull through on his promise and, in front of hundreds of people, he cleared through the entire tub of the cheesy, orange snack.
