(New York, NY) – A man faces charges after he allegedly assaulted “Board Empire” actor Michael Stuhlbarg on Sunday. The 55-year-old actor was walking near East Drive and East 90th Street when he was hit in the back of the head with a rock. Stuhlbarg chased down the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Xavier Israel. He caught up with him near the Russia Consulate on East 91st Street — where uniformed NYPD cops took Israel into custody.
Reports say Stuhlbarg declined medical attention at the scene but did suffer a small bruise.
Israel has three prior arrests on his record, including one for theft — all dating back to January 2022. He’s been charged with felony assault in this case.
