(New York, NY) — It was a very violent weekend across the city, six were shot, two are dead. Even a 2-year-old took a bullet. He was with his mother outside a bank in the Fordham section of the Bronx Saturday afternoon when bullets flew. One hit the toddler in the hip. His panicked mom raced to get him help. The boy is recovering at Jacobi Hospital. Police are searching for the gunman.
Police are looking for the gunman who shot two men in the Bronx Saturday night, killing one of them. Cops say it happened around nine o’clock on East 187th Street and Tiebout Avenue. The 25-year-old victim, Frankelis Tavarez, was shot in the chest and couldn’t be saved, while a 23-year-old man was shot in the stomach and buttocks and is in stable condition. The shooting happened just four blocks from where the two-year-old boy was injured.
On Friday night, a man was shot outside a smoke shop on the Lower East Side. Police say they have the gunman who fired off the shots in custody. No word on a motive for the gunfire. In South Jamaica, Queens a gunman shot and killed a 61-year-old woman inside an apartment Friday night. Cops say they have made an arrest.
