(Washington, D.C.) — Tik Tok may be banned in the U.S. market. The White House is calling on the Senate to pass the TikTok bill which was passed by the House. The bill requires TikTok’s parent company, Chinese-owned tech giant ByteDance, to sell the app within 180 days or see it banned from U.S. app stores. Democrats and Republicans are worried the company is feeding the information of more than 150 million Americans to the Chinese Communist Party. Meanwhile, TikTok is fighting the ban, claiming it violates the rights of Americans who wish to access the platform.
