(New York, NY) – An arrest has been made in Arizona, and the guy cops picked up could be connected to a New York City murder. Earlier this month, a woman was found dead inside of a SoHo hotel. Cops then said a man seen leaving SoHo 54 Hotel was wearing the victim’s leggings — because his own pants were so soaked with blood.
The victim, 35-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, was found covered in a sheet. Her body was on the floor. At first, a hotel worker thought she might be sleeping. Later, NYPD discovered a bloody iron near her lifeless body. Family in Queens said she’d been missing for a few days. That was on February 8.
Now, reports say 26-year-old Raad Almansoori has been detained in Arizona. He’s been accused of stabbing a woman near a Starbucks there and trying to take her car. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, Almansoori was tracked by video, witnesses, and credit cards to the hotel in New York. The suspect is also being looked at for multiple attacks of women — many of them escorts. Some of these alleged incidents took place in Arizona and Florida.
An autopsy determined Oleas-Arancibia died from blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities say they’re working to extradite Almansoori to New York City.
