(Moscow, Russia) — President Biden says he’s considering more sanctions against Moscow after the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Navalny’s widow is convinced her husband was poisoned on the orders of Russian President Valdimr Putin. Navalny, who was a long time, high-profile critic of Vladimir Putin died in prison last week. His widow, Yulia says she has been told she wont be able to see his body for two weeks. She says that’s proof that Alexei was poisoned, and that they are keeping her from her husband’s body until traces of that poison leave his body.
President Biden says Vladimir Putin is responsible for the death of Navalny. Biden praised Navalny, calling him brave for standing up to corruption and violence carried out by Putin’s government. Russian authorities say the 47-year-old Navalny died after taking a short walk outside of his cell. They say paramedics were unsuccessful in reviving him. Navalny led protests against the Kremlin for more than a decade and even ran against Putin.
