(New York, NY) – The NYPD says they’ve arrested the teen gunman who opened fire inside a Times Square store on Thursday night — striking a Brazilian tourist in the leg. It all started at JD Sports, after a theft-prevention employee spotted a group stuffing clothes and sneakers inside a bag. The worker asked them for a receipt. That’s when the 15-year-old alleged gunman whipped out a gun and shot at the store worker. That shot missed, but hit the innocent bystander.

Later, after cops responded, the suspected gunman fired at officers. They didn’t return fire because the area was so crowded — by this time the chase had made its way to Radio City. Now, cops say they have their guy — identified by Eyewitness News as 15-year-old Jesus Alejandro Rivas Figueroa, a Venezuelan migrant. He’s reportedly been living at an Upper West Side migrant shelter.

The Brazilian woman that was shot in the leg is reportedly expected to recover. No other injuries have been reported.
