(New York, NY) — New York’s three major airports are setting records for air travel with 2023 marking the busiest year ever for LaGuardia, JFK and Newark Liberty International Airports. The Port Authority says 144-million people took to the skies from New York’s Metro airports, shattering pre-pandemic records. That’s a three-percent increase from 2019, the year before we got slammed by COVID. Newark scored the biggest increase with 49-million passengers, up six-percent since 2019, followed by LaGuardia with 32-and-a-half-million passengers, a four-percent uptick. Sixty-two-and-a-half-million people flew through John F. Kennedy International, about the same as 2019.
