(New York, NY) – Former President Trump was back in New York City on Tuesday as his second defamation trial got underway in connection to writer E. Jean Carroll. Secret Service agents lead Trump in through a side door at the Manhattan court room. This is in relation to Carroll’s allegations that she was raped by Trump in the 1990s, inside a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman department store.

A jury already determined that Trump was liable for sexual assault, and that he owes Carroll $5 million dollars for defamation. This trial focuses on statements Trump made in 2019, denying that he assaulted her. Today, as jury selection got underway, Trump took to Truth Social and called the case a “fake” “witch hunt.”
