Yet Another Derailment for the NYC Subway

mixcollage-10-jan-2024-02-32-pm-9730

A derailment mucked up service along the F Line on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

(Brooklyn, NY) – The New York City subway system is dealing with yet another derailment — this time in Brooklyn, severely disrupting F-train service. It was around 12:20 PM when the slow-speed derailment occurred, near Neptune Avenue in Brooklyn. MTA officials say 37 people were on board. No injuries were reported.

The MTA says more information will be available in the near future, as equipment on the train itself recorded data regarding the derailment. One of the subway car’s wheels came off the tracks. Service was suspended between West 6th Street and Neptune Avenue in Brooklyn. And this all follows last week’s derailment in Manhattan, when a 1 Train collided with a work train, near the 96th Avenue station.
