(New York, NY) — A son and his mom were killed in a house fire in South Jamaica, Queens last night. The 61-year-old son had made it out of the 164th Place home okay, when he realized his 86-year-old mother was still trapped amid the flames. He raced back in to try and pull her out. Firefighters, who arrived in the scene in just two minutes, say they found the unresponsive bodies of son and mom inside in the house. They both died a short time later. There is no word what ignited the deadly blaze. Firefighters say they wished the son had waited for them to arrive.
