(Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) – A fiery tanker-truck crash destroyed a used car dealership in New Jersey and caused two injuries on Monday morning. It happened around 5:30 AM along Route 17 North. The tanker truck flipped over and plowed into the car dealership before exploding into flames. Reports say more than two dozen cars were ultimately destroyed.
By mid-afternoon, all lanes of Route 17 South had reopened, but the northbound span remained closed in Hasbrouck Heights. The stretch in between Henry Street and Moonachie Avenue is where this took place. NJ Transit suspended operations for a while on the Pascack Valley Line, given the tracks are located right alongside Rt. 17.
The truck driver and the driver of the other car that was hit both suffered minor injuries.
