(San Antonio, TX)  — Today is the start of what the military calls “Exodus,” where soldiers, sailors and airmen are sent home for the holidays. The busiest place in the country may be the airport in San Antonio, which is home to four military bases.  Around 4,000 members of the U. S. military are flying home through San Antonio for the holidays, along with all the other travelers . The airport’s Executive Director, Eric Warner says the military is working with the airlines to funnel both the troops and their duffel bags through security as fast as possible.

Many military members say they can’t wait to be back home with their families. Some say this is the first time they will be home with loved ones in years.
