(New York, NY) — Some across the tri-state will be cleaning up today from the heavy rain that fell Sunday into this morning. Basements are flooded in places like Freeport and Oceanside on Long Island. Some streets are covered with water in Hoboken, New Jersey. The storm did not dump as much rain as predicted. Wind gusts were much tamer too.

The same weather system did damage down South. Tennessee Emergency Management declaring a state of emergency after a string of tornadoes Saturday night left at least six dead, including a mother and her child. Preliminary reports are that 13 tornadoes touched down across parts of the middle of the state. Dozens of injuries have been reported from area hospitals. Utility crews have been working nonstop to restore service to the thousands of customers who lost power during the severe weather.
