Hochul signed legislation that aims to help NY farms
(Albany, NY) – New legislation signed into effect by Governor Kathy Hochul aims to help New York’s farms — and the entire food industry as a whole. The bill will boost the state’s number of craft beverage and cuisine trails. In a bid to expose more New Yorkers and tourists to what the state has to offer, these trails highlight food and beverages as produced by local farms and other producers.
As part of the legislation, alcohol can be manufactured at Cornell University and SUNY Broome Community College. That provision will also allow the schools to offer classes and research opportunities as connected to food and beverages.
