Ransomware, emergency room, new jersey
(Montclair, NJ) – Two emergency rooms have been forced to close temporarily in response to ransomware attacks. This is impacting Hackensack Meridian Medical System and their locations at Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, and Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair-Glen Ridge.
It’s not immediately clear what the cybercriminals are after in terms of their demands. Hackensack Meridien says patient care has not been impacted — but patients are being diverted to other hospitals.
