Taylor Swift, Eras Tour
(Rio de Janeiro) – Taylor Swift resumed her Eras Tour on Monday night in Rio de Janeiro, making up a postponed Saturday night show — that was put on hold after a fan died at a concert on Friday night. The young female fan’s death resulted after temperatures in Rio sweltered at over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with real-feel temperatures up closer to 135 with the humidity factored in.
Swift took to social media to express her regrets over the fan’s passing, calling it unbelievable. Video from the Friday night show seemed to indicate Swift was aware some fans were struggling and calling for water. Monday night she performed, making up for the Saturday show.
As a result of the changed scheduling, Swift was unable to attend the Monday Night Football contest in Kansas City that saw the Chiefs ultimately fall to the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of the Super Bowl. She was supposed to be there to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Chiefs, but had to miss it. That also meant a planned meeting between Swift’s and Kelce’s parents was postponed.
