(New York, NY) – New data is out and it shows New Yorkers deal with the nation’s worst commute times. The US Census Bureau says its most recent study indicates — on average — New Yorkers deal with a 33 minute commute. That’s up from 31 minutes in 2021.

New Jersey comes in third place with an average commute time of 30 minutes. Back in 2021, the average commute time for the Garden State was 28 minutes. Maryland checked in at the number two spot.

The US Census bureau’s data says Wyoming has the nation’s shortest average commute at 18 minutes. For the nation as a whole, the average commute is 26.4 minutes.
