(New York, NY) – As the Federal Trade Commission brings an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut have all signed on to the legal action. The FTC alleges that Amazon maintains a monopoly that effectively stops rivals from lowering prices. Per the lawsuit’s claims, Amazon also stifles innovation and overcharges sellers.
New York Attorney General Letitia James maintains that Amazon needs to held “accountable” for failing to follow the law while raising prices. She also claims Amazon’s online storefront takes advantage of sellers.
