(Albany, NY) – Steven Nigrelli has submitted his resignation as acting New York State Police Superintendent, after being accused of harassing or mistreating employees. The allegations included claims Nigrelli had harassed women. This ultimately resulted in him learning he wouldn’t be named permanent leader of the state police, and he decided to step down.

Nigrelli became acting superintendent in October of last year, after then superintendent Kevin Bruen stepped down. Bruen had been investigated for allegedly protecting a human resources official that he was friends with — after than individual faced internal complaints of some kind.
