(North Castle, NY) – A seven-year-old boy is expected to be ok after he was attacked by a bear in Westchester County on Tuesday morning. This happened at the boy’s home in North Castle, located on Hickory Kingdom Road when it happened — he was playing in the woods at the time. Police responded and shot the bear dead, as the animal was considered to still be a threat.
The boy’s parents administered first aid, and it appears his injuries are relatively minor. State Department of Environmental Conservation officials are testing the bear for rabies.
