(Atlantic Beach, NY) — Another dead whale has washed up on a local beach. On Monday, a dead whale was spotted in the surf in Atlantic Beach on Long Island. It’s not clear yet what killed the whale. Three whales have washed up on beaches across the Tri-State just in the past four days. On Saturday, a dead whale was found off Long Branch beach in New Jersey. It may have been hit by ship. Dozens of whales have ended up on New Jersey and Long Island beaches over the last year. Scientists are unclear why the whales are dying.
