(New York, NY) — Family and friends will pay their final respects today to NYPD Officer Alexis Martinez, who was shot and killed by his own father last week in the Bronx. A slew of cop friends showed up at the 26-year-old’s wake last night. Martinez had only been on the force for five years, but he had already passed the sergeant’s test, and was working towards a detective shield. He was killed last week by his father, who then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
