(Plainfield, NJ) — Families living in 84 apartments in two Plainfield, New Jersey buildings have no place to call home. The town told them they had to leave Wednesday because the conditions inside are so dangerous. The buildings have been officially condemned after inspectors found gaping holes in apartments and open sewer pipes. The landlord showed up as tenants were leaving. He had to be protected by police. Charles Aryeh says he has hired a contractor to fix what’s wrong. It’s unclear how long that will take.
