(New York, NY) — Elon Musk, owner of the X app formally known as Twitter, has announced the company will pay legal bills for anyone that has been treated unfairly by their employers for posting or liking something on the site.
The new policy comes after a post the CEO made on Sunday.
“If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill.”
He also said there will be no limits on funding on said bills. Musk didn’t give any details on how X users could claim money for their legal fees, however.
Musk is a strong believer in the concept of Universal freedom of speech, tweeting in the same thread “This is what defending freedom of speech looks like.”
Unless the CEO goes into more in depth detail on how the company plans to fund this spontaneous plan, the new policy seems unrealistic. Some twitter users are worried Musk has underestimated the number of victims and cost of the new policy.
The company is worth a reported $15 billion according to the Wall Street Journal, but it would likely decrease in value if Musk holds true to his Sunday evening tweet.
