(New York, NY) – 10 people, including two kids, are left injured after an SUV plowed into a group of people in Manhattan on Tuesday.
Authorities say the road rampage happened when officers attempted to pull over the driver after reports of a stolen SUV around 5:30 pm on Tuesday near Grand Central Station. That’s when the driver fled, hitting a biker and taxi before jumping the sidewalk, striking pedestrians.
The chaos ended after the SUV collided with another car, and Good Samaritans tackled the suspect who tried to run, detaining him until authorities arrived to formally make the arrest.
The suspect was reportedly under the influence of drugs and had been unlicensed with several prior arrests. All those injured are expected to survive.
