(New York, NY) – Bad news for anyone headed out on a road trip this weekend. According to Triple A, the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline checked in at $3.71 on Thursday. That’s the highest such number since November of last year. It also represents a 13-cent climb from the previous week.

Experts note this is directly correlated to the price of crude oil, which has been surging lately. International standard Brent crude is up over $80 per barrel, representing a three-month high.
