NEW JERSEY -In an effort to prevent future airport meltdowns due to staffing shortages—New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer wants Washington to provide a study on flight delays at the tri state’s three major airports….Newark, JFK and LaGuardia.
The democrat points out that 13-percent of all flights were delayed last summer do to staffing issues and equipment failures, while the FAA did nothing about it.
Gottheimer says a bill headed to the Senate would provide funds for hiring staff and purchasing new equipment.
