Gen Z on cell phone
(New York, NY) – According to a new study from CommBank and More, a telco provider, members of Generation Z despise talking on the phone. Texting is ok, but phone calls? They rank up near crocodiles and heights in terms of people’s most common fears.
The study specifically focused on Gen Z’ers in Australia. Just 1 in 10 said they prefer to communicate via friends or family via phone call. Some list an “awkward phone call” as one of the top 5 things they’d “most want to avoid” in life.
The no-phone call trend has extended to romantic life these days as well. Among Gen Z, 1 in 5 say they’ve broken up with a partner via text.
Once upon a time that would’ve been considered downright cold. But it seems for Gen Z, it’s actually pretty considerate.
