hot dog contest
(New York, NY) – The annual Nathan’s Famous July 4th hot dog eating contest is in the books! Legendary competitive eater Joey Chestnut defended his title by eating 62 hot dogs in ten minutes. He didn’t break his world record of 76 which he previously set in 2021.
On the women’s side, Miki Sudo took home her ninth title. She fell short of her personal record but still scarfed down 39 and a half hot dogs and buns to win. That means she’ll take home a $10,000 prize.
Competitors have 10 minutes to eat as many dogs and buns as possible. The event is held annually on Independence Day in Coney Island.
