United Airlines
(Newark, NJ) – Last week was a nightmare at the New York City airports. Bad weather, FAA crew shortages, and issues with various airlines let to numerous delays. In some cases, takeoffs were delayed by as many as eight hours – from last Sunday through Tuesday. In response, United Airlines is giving 30-thousand frequent flyer miles to travelers who were impacted.
Looking ahead, there could be more disruptions on the horizon. United CEO Scott Kirby says the airline is considering a cut back to schedules, or perhaps changes, unless it can get more gates at Newark Liberty International Airport, which is United’s hub.
