On this Monday edition of Sid & Friends in the Morning, Sid reacts to the news of American soccer journalist Grant Wahl's sudden death in Qatar while covering the World Cup. Wahl had come down with a cold-like sickness earlier on in the week, and said he had visited a medical clinic just days before his passing. The American journalist made waves in the media at the start of the tournament for wearing a rainbow t-shirt in support of his homosexual brother. It's been well documented during this World Cup that homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, so there is a good amount of speculation that there was some foul play involved in Wahl's death. Wahl's brother, Eric, took to social media to say as much in a shocking video explaining how his brother had a squeaky clean bill of health and how he doesn't believe he just dropped dead out of nowhere. In other news of the day, the prisoner swap for Brittney Griner continues to send shockwaves through the mainstream media, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York State Governor Kathy Hochul will convene tonight to address the issue of hate crimes in New York, more "Twitter files" drop regarding the tampering of the 2020 election on the part of the social media company, and more fallout from former Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema's switch to the Independent party. Curtis Sliwa, Rich Lowry, Stephen A. Smith and Jeanette Lee join the program, and as always make sure you don't miss out on the Monday installment of Lidia Reports with Lidia Curanaj.
