VIDEO: Four Gunpoint Carjackings in NYC, Police Seek Public’s Help

NEW YORK (77WABC) — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying people responsible in at lease four gunpoint carjacking’s in NYC.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at approximately 4:50 am   at the intersection of 194th Street and 112th  Avenue. A  27-year-old man was operating a 2013 gray Ford sedan, when a white Toyota sedan, following closely, rear-ending  the victim’s vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle, the driver of the Ford, was confronted by unidentified males who exited the white vehicle and displayed a firearm. The individuals from the Ford fled in the two vehicles, leaving the victim behind. The 27-year-old victim was not hurt.

Police say in the second incident at 2:25 in the morning,  on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022  in front of 31-21 Linden Place, a 67-year-old man was driving a 2018 Mercedes-Benz SUV, when a vehicle of an unknown make and model, following closely, rear-ending the victim’s vehicle. Upon exiting the vehicle, the SUV driver was confronted by  unidentified men who exited the rear vehicle and punched and kicked the man.  The individuals fled in the two vehicles,  leaving the victim behind . Police say the victim refused medical attention.

Two days later,  on Friday, October 21st , 2022, at approximately 2:30 am, in front of 1159 Elton Street, a 52-year-old man operating a 2017 Ford sedan was rear-ended by the driver of a 2015 Infiniti Q50 sedan. After exiting his Ford Sedan the 57-year-old man was confronted by unidentified men who exited the rear vehicle and punched and kicked the victim and forcibly removed his cellphone. The suspects  then fled in the two vehicles, leaving the victim behind. The victim sustained lacerations about the body and was removed by EMS to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

The most recent armed car jacking  incident reported to police,  occurred  on Thursday, October 27th, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Hendrix Street. Police say a 40-year-old man driving a 2017 gray BMW sedan, was rear-ended by the driver of a black sedan of an unknown make and model, who’d been following closely. Upon exiting the vehicle, the victim was confronted by unidentified males who exited the rear vehicle and displayed a firearm. The individuals fled in the two vehicles, leaving the victim behind. No injuries reported.
