EXCLUSIVE : ATTORNEY VISITS STRAUSS-KAHN AT RIKERS ISLAND
NEW YORK (77 WABC) — A corrections officer on Riker’s Island is hospitalized in stable condition after he was attacked by an inmate and stabbed more than a dozen times.
Investigators say it happened shortly before 5 p.m. today. The corrections officer was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
DOC Commissioner Louis Molina issuing a statement saying: “We will not tolerate any assaults on our Members of Service who show up to work each day to keep our jails safe.”
