NEW YORK (77WABC) — A man was killed late Monday afternoon after authorities say he was dragged by a train in front of horrified passengers.
It happened around 5 p.m. at the 59th Street Columbus Circle station. Police say the victim, a 20-year-old man, was running for the 1 train when his backpack or piece of clothing got caught in the train.
Unable to free himself, he was hit by the train.
The incident caused major transit delays.
