NYPD-Officers
NEW YORK (77WABC) — Police officials say NYPD Chief of Department Ken Corey is leaving after less than a year on the job as the high-ranking uniformed officer.
Sources say Corey is retiring. In a statement, Corey says, “Policing is among the great passions in my life … I have now been presented with an opportunity to improve policing on a national – and even international – level. It was an opportunity I simply could not allow to pass.”
There’s no official word on the role of his new job. Corey will be leaving at the end of November.
