THE BRONX, N.Y. (77WABC) — Police have arrested a man with ten prior arrests in connection with Saturdays push of a 26-year-old subway rider onto the tracks at the East 149th street station in the Bronx.
On Tuesday, police said 35-year-old Miguel Ramirez of the Bronx was charged with attempted murder, assault, assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, causing injury through risk of death and reckless endangerment.
His prior arrests, include for assaults, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
On Saturday, October 15, 2022, at approximately 11: 50 am inside the East 149 Street and Southern Boulevard station, 26-year-old male victim was standing on the northbound platform of the 6 train when Ramirez allegedly unprovoked, pushed the victim off the platform and onto the roadbed as the 6 train was arriving and fled.
Witnesses helped the victim climb back onto the platform. The train did not make contact with the victim, but the man sustained minor injuries to his legs and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
