TRENTON, N.J. (77WABC) — New Jersey is suing five major gas and oil companies for allegedly lying about the existence of climate change.
Among companies names — Exxon Mobil, Shell Oil, and Chevron. Attorney General Matthew Platkin says the companies concealed and denied their knowledge of overconsuming fossil fuels, leading to rising sea levels, flooding, and extreme weather.
Platkin says he will work to recover as much money in the suit as possible for New Jersey.
