NEW YORK (77WABC) — Responding to a 911 call, officers from the 72nd Precinct conducted a wellness check at a Brooklyn Apartment located at 5320 6th Avenue around 2 a.m.
The person who called police met officers within the building telling them a commotion inside apartment Apartment #4a prompted the call for help. Officers gained entry to the apartment, finding a 61-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive in the hallway with multiple lacerations to her head, neck and upper torso.
A 52-year-old man was found on the ground outside the apartment building, unconscious and unresponsive, with signs of trauma indicative of falling from a higher elevation. A knife was found near his body.
EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the man and the woman dead.
The Medical Examiner will make an official determination on the cause of death. An investigation remains ongoing.
The identities of the deceased are pending proper family notification.
