NY: Subway riding in New York
(New York, NY) — A man who allegedly shoved a straphanger onto the tracks at the Union Square station this week has a long rap sheet. Police say Clarence Anderson has at least 40 prior arrests. Cops say it was Anderson who pushed a 25-year-old rider onto the tracks Monday. Fellow riders pulled the victim back up onto the platform before a train rolled in. He was treated for cuts to his head. Anderson ran off and then allegedly threw a rock at a construction worker in Columbus Circle. He was arrested a short time later. Anderson is behind bars on 60-thousand-dollars bail.
