NEW YORK (77WABC) — Two more bus loads of migrants are expected to arrive in New York City on Wednesday.
Officials with the City’s Department of Social Services are looking to create more shelters because of an uptick in asylum seekers coming to the city.
They testified at a hearing Tuesday that there is very little room in existing shelters. City officials also criticized Texas Governor Greg Abbott for sending buses of migrants to New York City.
Mayor Eric Adams has called on the federal government for assistance. Meantime, Adams is reportedly vowing to go to Texas and knock on doors — telling people what their governor is doing.
