After clearing cap space and trading for picks during the draft the Knicks have set themselves up to make a big splash. A couple of nights ago it was reported that the Jazz were open for business on potentially trading Donovan Mitchell for the right price. Last night the Knicks and Jazz started talking about a deal that would bring Mitchell to New York. Mitchell would make the Knicks a playoff team right away, and would help the young guys like Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Mitchell Robinson. I believe second year player Quentin Grimes, shooting guard Evan Fournier, and power forward Julius Randle could all be included in the deal along with four or five first round picks. Either way I think this is something the Knicks must pull the trigger on especially with all the young players and picks that New York has to offer. I think Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell and RJ Barrett would work well together with Barrett benefiting the most from this trade. I think Barrett is only going to get better and will have a breakout season this year. We will see in the coming days how this all unfolds but I think that the Knicks will end up getting the star guard from Utah.
