Cannes – Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy speaks at the Opening
KYIV, Ukraine (77WABC) — Ukraine is standing firm — with Kyiv not agreeing to a ceasefire or land any concessions to Russia.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak told Reuters concessions would only embolden Russia.
“The war will not stop. It will just be put on pause for some time,” Podolyak said. “They’ll start a new offensive, even more bloody and large-scale.”
The comments come as Russia initially struggled to make gains in the eastern Donbas region. They then launched a major offensive in Luhansk where several villages have been captured with efforts to now take the remaining major city in the region.
The conflict is now in its 3rd month.
